“MIX” - InvestLab’s flagship product - an industry first, Service-as-a-Solution delivered, white labeled, retail brokerage trading platform that offers Retail Investors functionalities, such as ,multi-currency, multi-market and multi-lingual global trading - Anywhere, Anytime, accessible from the comfort of your home or on the go. With Mix, the service offering included electronic access to 43 markets at competitive prices, market data, trade interfaces and portfolio analytics. All built the end (layman-) users in mind and empowering everyone to trade.
The Objective
As an Senior UX Designer at InvestLabs, I was ran all creative processes and driving the design of their flagship project “MIX” to create a unique trading experience for retail investors, but also enabling back office users to backend interface with the platform - all in collaboration Citibank Australia.
My Responsibilities
Interfacing with key stakeholders, such as the VP of Product, CTO and Head of Banking & Wealth Management, deliver experiences in following areas
A client facing trading platform, that allows users to access global market data, trade across 43 countries and a build up a comprehensive Investment portfolio.
An administration platform UX, enabling real-time order and execution management with a customisation flexibilities of security masters, commission plans, and account types
Post-trade functionality that includes on-demand reports and corporate action processing, that allows firms to quickly adopt new regulatory and market rules
The Challenges
Coming from a non-investment banking background, the task was to gather user pain-point, from a retail broker perspective, but also from a back-office admin point of view. I realized that was the perfect opportunity to turn the challenge into my advantage quickly. Making myself understand the processes of multi-market trading where I design the admin platform and rule-based user interface means a layman user will understand the process as well - tailored to InvestLab’s target audience.
