New World Development — Award-winning Digital Experience

Reimagining the digital presence of one of Hong Kong’s leading property developers through a structured, storytelling-driven experience.

Introduction

New World Development (NWD) is one of Hong Kong’s largest property developers, behind landmark projects such as Victoria Dockside and the K11 cultural-retail developments.

The group operates across multiple business domains — including property development, investment, infrastructure, retail, and hospitality — resulting in a highly complex digital presence.

The existing website struggled to reflect this scale and sophistication, with fragmented content and a lack of clear narrative across business units.

The opportunity was to redefine how NWD communicates its brand, portfolio, and vision through a more structured and engaging digital experience.

Objective

The objective was to redesign the NWD group website to better represent the organisation’s scale, vision, and brand positioning.

The experience needed to balance corporate communication with storytelling — supporting both investors and general audiences.

It also required alignment across multiple departments, including marketing, leasing, investor relations, HR, sustainability, IT, and K11.

The goal was to create a unified experience that connects these diverse perspectives into a single, coherent narrative.

Challenge

The complexity of the organisation introduced significant structural and alignment challenges.

  • Multiple stakeholders with different priorities and expectations
  • Large volumes of content across business units
  • Inconsistent messaging and structure
  • Difficulty presenting corporate information in an engaging way

Each department had its own objectives, making it challenging to establish a unified experience.

The core challenge was not visual design, but orchestrating alignment across the organisation while maintaining clarity and coherence.

Process

We approached the project by prioritising structure and alignment before visual execution.

Workshops and stakeholder sessions were conducted to understand the needs of each department and define shared goals.

Content was reorganised into a clear information architecture, establishing a logical flow across the entire site.

A strong narrative framework was introduced to guide how the brand story unfolds — from high-level positioning to detailed content.

My role focused on creative direction and execution, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints while aligning diverse stakeholder inputs.

Solution

The final experience was designed as a structured storytelling platform, balancing clarity, usability, and brand expression.

Key improvements included:

  • Clear information hierarchy across all business units
  • Streamlined navigation to support multiple user types
  • Consistent design language across corporate and brand content
  • Improved readability and content structure
  • Stronger storytelling to communicate vision and portfolio

The result is a cohesive digital experience that reflects the scale and sophistication of NWD.

Outcome

The redesigned platform significantly improved how NWD presents its brand and communicates with stakeholders.

The work was recognised with an industry award, highlighting excellence in both design and user experience.

More importantly, the project demonstrated how strong structure and stakeholder alignment can transform complex organisations into clear and engaging digital experiences.
